Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences (CALAS) is a national academic and non-profit social association with laboratory animal scientists, technicians, and related institutions. CALAS was inaugurated in 1987, and become a member of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) in the same year. And also become a council member of International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS) on the name of National and Scientific members. In 2003, CALAS sponsored and become a member of the Asian Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations (AFLAS). Core Values Statement CALAS dedicated to advancing human and animal health by promoting the ethical care, use and the research of laboratory animals in China. The major tasks of CALAS is to promote the advancement of laboratory animal science by means of scientific exchanges; to promote the growth of laboratory animal scientific members; to service for the development of laboratory animal science theory, technician, and industry. CALAS devoted to popularize the respective of work-out, knowledge, and creative fashion. According to its aim, CALAS strives: 1. Carry out various kinds of academic exchanges. Status Dr. Liu Qian is the chairman of CALAS, who is the vice-minister of Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China. Dr. Qin Chuan is the vice-chairman and secretary-general of CALAS, who is the director of Institute of Laboratory Animal Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. | ||
